Our Policies
Travel Fees
Please note that there will be travel fees incurred depending on where you are based. Due to the exorbitant travel costs, there is unfortunately a limit to my travel. For a quotation for travel fees, I will always request the address or a location pin to be sent to me. This will then be added onto your session cost.
Please note that the travel fees will only be shared if one or more owner at the same yard books.
Payments
- New clients or reinstated clients are always requested to pay before the session, as per the invoice, in order to confirm the appointment.
- An established client, payment is due on the day of the session, either on presentation of the bodywork report or on issue of invoice. If payments are not rendered within a realistic time frame, subsequent sessions will require up-front payment.
- Please note that it is at my discretion as to the client payment policy.
Cancellation Policy
Please note that this policy is based on the fact that, when you agree to a session booking, my time has been blocked off for your session.
- On occasion, there may be a need to cancel or reschedule your appointment on short notice, this is understandable, as life happens and we are dealing with animals, however, if you cancel a confirmed session within 24 hours of your appointment, for reasons other than a family emergency or industry standard contra indications to sports massage, the session will be cancelled, an invoice will be issued and unfortunately the full cost is non-refundable.
- If cancellations or rescheduling of appointments become a reoccurring event, a cancellation invoice will be issued and due for payment, regardless of the time period before your appointment.
Confirmed Bookings
Please note the following for a confirmed bookings. As with the reoccurring cancellations or rescheduling, when you agree to a session booking, my time has been blocked off for your session and the subsequent sessions that follow your appointment.
- If I am unable to gain access to your yard within a reasonable time frame (10 mins of the appointment), the full session cost will be invoiced and the session cancelled.
- If your horse is not available for the session within a reasonable time frame (5 mins of the appointment) the full session cost will be invoiced and the session cancelled.
- If your horse is not appointment ready i.e. properly groomed, free from mud, sweat and completely dry, there will be an additional fee.
- If I am unable to complete the session due to safety reasons, the full session cost will be invoiced.
How do I prepare for my horse’s bodywork session?
To make the most of your equine bodywork session, it is important to do the following:
- Try and schedule your session at a time of day that does not interfere with feeding, turnout, riding, training or other professional equine appointments.
- If your horse suffers with:
– separation anxiety, kindly ensure that they have a mate close by
– difficulty standing for sessions, or any behavioural issues, make sure there is someone present to hold your horse during the session. - Kindly ensure the horse is in their stable at least 10 minutes, before the scheduled time. If your horse is not stabled, please ensure that there is a suitable shaded area to work in.
- If you are a new client please complete the questionnaire at least 24 hours prior to your appointment, to allow me to review and prepare appropriately for the appointment.
- If you are an established client booking a maintenance session please advise of the following:
– If there are any current performance issues I should be made aware of.
– If there has been any changes to tack i.e. recent saddle changes, bit changes, changes to feet/shoeing etc.
– If the horse has had any recent injuries, trauma, medical or clinical issues.
– Any changes to the horse’s usual workload.
– Any recent complementary care sessions, if so what were the findings?
